::Snippets:: I'm sensing a trend...

While sorting through my Facebook quotes (yeah, I have to sort through them, because I have way too many...that's an issue for another time), I realized I had some pretty angsty song lyrics and quotes goin' on up in there. I guess I had some rough teen years?

Isn't it amazing how a song can instantly take you back to an extremely specific place and time? Or is that just me?

I've realized that my musical preferences over the years, though they've changed, have really just progressed from one angsty artist to another.

Sometimes, I'm too obsessive compulsive to not read every blog post in my Google reader and watch every video in my YouTube subscriptions.

I'm working on that.

::Snippets:: Pet peeve

It really bugs me when you ("you" being any one of the many members of society whom I'm sure are guilty of this offense, but especially the people who share my bathroom, a.k.a. my sisters):
1) Use up the conditioner before the shampoo.
and
2) Start using the new conditioner while still using up the last of the old shampoo - this will only compound the problem and make it worse.

It really gets my goat (whatever that even means)!

Everyone seems to think they know exactly who everyone else is. I personally have given up living under such ridiculous illusions.

Sometimes I tell lies without meaning to or even really trying. I guess it's really not so much of a lie as it is speaking too quickly about something and then realizing I was wrong. Either way, I apologize.

Does anyone else find it disconcerting that, according to the fashion industry, people have to be either size 0-2 ("normal" (?)) or size 12+ (plus-size)? What about sizes 4-10? Are designers just bad at math?

It bugs me when people say "well I wouldn't do it that way." Apparently, this other person would, so in the future, you should probably try to remember that the entire world is not made up of your clones.

But, sometimes I could seriously explode from being so annoyed with people. Maybe this goes back to the whole hostility thing. I can't even explain it, but if you've experienced it, you understand what I'm saying here.

In my developmental psych class, we learned about the difference between hostility (wanting to hurt someone) and aggression (actually hurting someone). I realized I'm pretty high on the hostility-o-meter, but relatively low on the aggression-o-meter (based on my own analysis). Basically, a lot of times, I wish I could just punch people. But I don't.

I learned today that Japanese people are "less unrealistically optimistic" than Americans. This means they are optimistic, but within reason. I have always considered myself quite realistically optimistic. That may make me part Japanese. Or it may just mean that I have a little bit of what I like to call (un)common sense.

Some people have it, some people wish they did, and some people are completely clueless as to what the word even means.

but sometimes, I just don't really feel like being interrogated about my life.

I love the internet as much as anyone. The ability to look up any information at a moment's notice is amazing. But sometimes, I feel like I encounter so much fascinating information that there is no way I will remember it all, and even if I bookmark it/write it down/type it up, I will never put it all to use.

I guess, if I never think about it again, maybe it's not as important as I think it is.
